You can make this superbly designed harp, based on a Paraguayan harp, with very simple tools: a saw, a drill and other commonly available tools. Kit includes full-size plans (24x36") with written instructions, a DVD which details every step of the project as well as instructions on how to play by ear, 26 color-coded strings (blue C's and red F's; specify if you prefer red C's and blue F's), 26 beads for knotting the strings, 26 precision guitar-tuning machines, a string winder, a Snark Chromatic Automatic Quartz tuner (clips right on the harp to help you stay in tune), and 2 rubber feet with mounting screws. You buy two pieces of 1"x10"x48" pine shelving; 1 piece of 1"x2"x48", and two 3/16" dowels (48" long). The wood should cost about $10.
The harp also comes with a simple and inexpensive way to get sharps and flats for accidentals, called Taquitos, which is a small dowel set behind certain strings to achieve the semitones
